KTR denies drug allegations, calls it political vendetta
Hyderabad: In the backdrop of the political row over the Janwada farmhouse raid, BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao(KTR) clarified it’s not a farmhouse but a residence of Raj Pakala. He further explained that it wasn’t a rave party but a family function.
Addressing the media about the Janwada farmhouse raid, KTR said, “In the last 22 hours, running a farce over the raid on my brother-in-law. Currently, in the state, if the family wants to throw a party at their residence, the people have to take permission from the government. I had no clue about it.”
“It is not a farmhouse but his residence. He shifted to this residence from the city gated community 15 days ago. Due to the Dasara and Diwali festival season, he threw a party. What is a ‘rave party’? It is a family function. My mother-in-law, Raj Pakala’s mother, was present, along with children aged 7-14,” said KTR. He further added that contrary to social media claims, “they are not men and women but family members.”
KTR condemns baseless accusations against family and booking a case under NDPS Act
Showing a video of an Excise official stating no drugs were found at the premises, KTR said, “She clearly said there were no drugs.” Despite this, police conducted urine tests on multiple attendees and reported that out of the tests conducted, one person tested positive, while 12 tested negative. In the morning, the Excise department official clearly stated that no drugs were found. However, the police later filed a case under the NDPS Act. Taking a dig at the same, “NDPS Act sections 25 (hosting drugs party in the premises), 27 (consumption), and 29 (criminal conspiracy to commit an offense). How can they change sections and book a case? Who consumed or hosted the party? The police raided the premises with sniffer dogs trained to find drugs, but they couldn’t find any drugs. How can they charge under the NDPS Act?”
The ruling Congress is targeting families due to its inability to address public concerns about governance. Referring to their role in the Telangana statehood movement and asserted their readiness to face political challenges. He said, “We are fighting it out without compromise. We are facing each and every challenge thrown at us taking inspiration from the KCR fighting spirit.”
Rather than address pressing issues like TGSP personnel protests, Congress governing is politically witching the oppositional leaders. “We will fight the Congress party tooth and nail and expose their failures. It failed to fulfill their 100-day assurance and other failures including ‘Musi development scam, Amrut tenders’, and other scams,” claimed KTR.
“BRS questioned them on every issue and exposed them. The current government failed to answer our questions. They couldn’t justify the failures. Unable to fight us politically, they are targeting family and kin to affect our self-esteem and curb our voices,” said KTR.
