Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao (KTR), the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has dared Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to arrest him, asserting that he would walk into prison "with his head held high" in solidarity with the farmers of Telangana and to be their voice in the face of injustice.

KTR's bold statement came in response to recent accusations after the Telangana police named him in the remand report of former Kodangal MLA Patnam Narender Reddy. The report alleges KTR's involvement in the controversial Lagacherla incident, where it is claimed that Narender Reddy orchestrated attacks to destabilize the state government and gain political advantage.

On his social media platform X, KTR lashed out at Revanth Reddy, questioning his integrity and leadership. "For a man caught with a Rs 50 lakh bribe, everything will seem like a conspiracy!" KTR said. He went on to accuse the chief minister of fabricating conspiracies around various incidents, including farmer protests and allegations against his family members. "Farmers protesting against your son-in-law’s pharma company will be a conspiracy! Farmers not bowing down to your brother’s threats is a conspiracy!” KTR said.

The BRS leader also criticised the CM's administration for its treatment of farmers. “After waiting for your appointment for nine long months, after facing all your threats, if they revolt – it is, of course, a conspiracy!” KTR remarked. He pointed out the government's use of "midnight raids" and "illegal arrests" against farmers and tribal communities, calling it an act of fear and oppression.

KTR's statement follows the police's remand report, which claims that Narender Reddy admitted to orchestrating the attacks on farmers and government officials under the alleged direction of a "prominent party leader," without naming KTR directly. The report further asserts that Narender Reddy promised protection and support from this influential leader to the perpetrators of the attacks.

In response to these charges, KTR remained defiant, saying, “If I question the midnight raids on poor farmer families, illegal arrest and torture – it is definitely a conspiracy! Because you live in fear! Every single moment of your life, you live in fear!”

KTR further stated, “Arrest me! I will walk into the prison with my head held high for standing by the farmers of Telangana! For becoming the voice of the voiceless!”
