Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy extended birthday greetings to BRS working president and Sircilla MLA Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) on Thursday, July 24, 2025. The wishes were posted through the official handle of the Chief Minister's Office.

The post read, “On the occasion of the birthday of Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, the Hon’ble MLA of Sircilla constituency, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy extended his heartfelt wishes to him. He expressed his hope that God blesses him with a long and healthy life as he continues to dedicate himself to public service and contribute actively to the development of the state.” The post also included the hashtag #TelanganaRising2047.

KTR’s sister and MLC Kavitha Kalvakuntla also posted birthday wishes on social media platform X, writing, “Annayya Many happy returns of the day!! @KTRBRS.”

Her message drew attention online, with some users interpreting it as a ‘cold wish’ amid ongoing speculation of a rift between the siblings and internal tensions within the BRS. Others, however, appreciated that she extended greetings despite the alleged differences.

Meanwhile, on July 22, KTR had strongly criticized the Congress-led state government for discontinuing the KCR Kit scheme. He accused the government of scrapping the program because it was closely associated with former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

Speaking at a “Gift a Smile” event at Telangana Bhavan, KTR personally distributed KCR Kits to mothers and newborns from Hyderabad. Announcing that he would distribute 5,000 more kits in his Sircilla constituency, he said many mothers had been struggling since the scheme was suspended nearly 20 months ago.

“Before 2014, people feared going to government hospitals. But thanks to KCR’s measures, trust in public hospitals increased,” KTR said. He credited the KCR Kit initiative with improving maternal and infant healthcare and reducing mortality rates.

Calling the scheme’s suspension “shameful,” KTR alleged that the Revanth Reddy-led government halted it not due to policy reasons but out of personal and political hostility toward KCR.
