Hyderabad: Renowned playback singer K.S. Chithra will mark 45 years in the music industry with a live concert titled Chithramrutam 2.0 on Saturday, June 14, 2025. The event will take place at Akshaya Convention, Financial District, Hyderabad, starting at 6:00 p.m. and will run for 3 hours and 30 minutes. The concert is open to attendees aged 6 and above.

Presented as a tribute to her musical journey, Chithramrutam 2.0 – Celebrating 45 Years of Melody promises an evening of classical, devotional, regional, romantic, and orchestral music in Telugu and Hindi. Chithra will perform her most celebrated songs, backed by a full live orchestra, including a dedicated string section.

About K.S. Chithra

Krishnan Nair Shantakumari Chithra, born July 27, 1963, is widely regarded as one of India’s most versatile and accomplished playback singers. Over her nearly five-decade-long career, she has recorded more than 20,000 songs in a wide array of Indian languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam, and many others, as well as several international languages.

Chithra has received numerous accolades, including six National Film Awards, ten Filmfare Awards South, and 43 state government awards from eight Indian states. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2005 and the Padma Bhushan in 2021 for her contributions to Indian music.

She was also honoured as the first Indian woman to be recognised by the British Parliament at the House of Commons in 2003, and later became the first Indian artist to be honoured by the Chinese government at the Qinghai International River Festival in 2009. Her performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2001 earned her the title "Golden Voice of India."
