Kondapur's Vessella Villas imposes Rs. 20,000 fine on resident for speeding & argument
Hyderabad: A resident of Vessella Villas in Kondapur has been fined Rs 20,000 for over-speeding within the gated community. The incident, which occurred on March 18, 2025, escalated into a verbal argument between the resident and the Community President, prompting the penalty.
The Vessella Villas Welfare Association issued a "Vessella Villas Resident Violation Form" stating that the violation involved both over-speeding and a confrontation with a committee member. The fine of Rs 20,000 was imposed on the resident.
An official notice from the Welfare Association warned that repeated violations could result in additional penalties, including the recovery of damages to community property.
The incident has sparked a debate about the enforcement of self-made community rules and the authority of private associations in managing residential conduct. While some residents support the fine as a necessary measure to maintain order and prevent accidents caused by speeding, others argue that such penalties are excessive and that the association’s rules are being enforced too strictly.
