2BHK Kollur Phase II residents write to CM over civic issues
Hyderabad: Residents of the 2BHK Dignity Housing Colony in Kollur Phase II are raising serious concerns about shoddy construction and inadequate amenities. The beneficiaries voiced their frustration over non-functional elevators, broken sewage pipes causing drainage issues, inadequate garbage disposal, erratic electricity supply, and water shortages.
Shaik Fayaz, one of the beneficiaries, told reporters that a total of 117 families were allotted flats in Phase II. He said the GHMC officials had warned that if the allotted units are not occupied by the December 15 deadline, their pattas would be cancelled.
Explaining the issues being faced by the 15,000 residents in the block, Fayaz said the waste water is not draining out properly due to the clogged drainage systems. He also pointed out that several flats in his block have no electricity supply or water provision. With no concrete solutions in sight, he urged the chief minister Revanth Reddy to direct the GHMC officials to expedite repair and maintenance work in Kollur Phase II housing units.
Built by the previous BRS government, the Kollur housing complex was touted as Asia’s largest affordable housing project for weaker sections.
