He lauds lake restoration at Kokapet’s Kotha Cheruvu

HYDERABAD: He appreciated the restoration work being carried out at Kotha Cheruvu, Kokapet, on Sunday. Despite constant drizzle, he remained at the site and worked alongside the team throughout the exercise.

Participants said his presence encouraged them to continue with the conservation activity even in unfavourable weather. “The work at Kotha Cheruvu is aimed at rejuvenating the lake and improving water storage capacity. His involvement boosted our confidence,” one of the organisers said.

Local residents have been supporting the project, which includes desilting, cleaning, and creating walking tracks. Environmental groups have also stressed the importance of preserving lakes in the western part of Hyderabad, where rapid urbanisation has led to shrinking water bodies.
