Kodangal attack case: Ex-MLA Patnam Narender Reddy denies police confession
Hyderabad: Former MLA Patnam Narender Reddy, currently lodged in Cherlapally Jail, has denied a confession allegedly made in his name implicating BRS working president KT Rama Rao in a recent attack on government officials in Vikarabad district.
In an affidavit sent from jail on Thursday, Reddy stated, “The confession report given by the police in my name is wrong. The police have not taken any statement from me regarding KT Rama Rao or the case. I did not make any such confession.” The letter has since gone viral on social media platforms.
The development comes after police included KTR's name in its remand report which claims that Narender Reddy admitted that that BRS Working President KT Rama Rao was behind the conspiracy to attack the district officials during a public hearing on land acquisition process in Lagcherla village.
Meanwhile, Narender Reddy has filed a bail petition in the Vikarabad court. Earlier in the day, BRS leader T Harish Rao visited him at Cherlapally jail and assured him of the party's support and inquired about his well-being. Former MLA was arrested on Wednesday in connection with an attack on Vikarabad District Collector Prateek Jain and other officials who were visiting Lagcherla village to gather farmers' opinions regarding land acquisition for the proposed pharma project in the area
