KHAMMAM:Man kills friend for money after watching murder videos on YouTube

KHAMMAM: A gruesome murder in Khammam district has shocked the region, after police revealed that the accused had watched YouTube videos to plan the killing.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Tirupati Reddy, the accused, identified as Parimi Ashok , a native of Chityala village in Vatsavai mandal, Andhra Pradesh, allegedly killed Gatla Venkateswarlu , 40, a private employee from Captain Banjara village in Kamepalli mandal, Khammam district.

Police said the two had met at a library in Khammam a few months ago and became close. Their relationship later turned intimate. Ashok, an MPharmacy graduate working in a Khammam hospital, was also in an extramarital relationship with a nurse.

Ashok, along with Penti Krishnaiah of Balapeta in Khammam, allegedly plotted to kill Venkateswarlu for his gold and money. Police said Ashok searched YouTube for ways to execute the murder and dispose of the body.

On September 15, Venkateswarlu visited Ashok’s rented room in Khammam. In the early hours of September 16, while Venkateswarlu was asleep, Ashok slit his throat with a knife, severed his head and limbs, packed the body parts in plastic covers and wrapped them in a blanket. He then carried the remains on a two-wheeler and dumped them in bushes near Karunagiri in Edulapuram municipality.

On October 6, police found a human skull and bones at the site. Forensic confirmation identified them as Venkateswarlu’s remains. Following investigation, police arrested the three accused and remanded them to judicial custody, ACP Reddy said.
