Kamareddy villagers carry body on scooty to hospital

HYDERABAD: In the absence of transport, villagers in Kalyani village of Ellareddy mandal used a three-wheeler scooty to carry the body of a man who died by suicide on Thursday.

Police said Bandari Sailu, 42, a resident of Kalyani, ended his life by hanging. He was reportedly addicted to alcohol and distressed with life. After conducting an inquest, police advised family members to shift the body to Ellareddy government hospital for postmortem.

Family members could not arrange a tractor or any other vehicle. Learning of this, former sarpanch Srinivas, with the help of another villager, placed the body on his three-wheeler scooty and began transporting it. When police were informed, the body had already been taken about 3 km up to Thimmareddy Gate.

Police immediately sent a tractor and ensured the body was shifted to Ellareddy hospital for postmortem.
