Fire breaks out at Kalapather hardware shop in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A fire broke out late Friday night at a hardware shop in Kalapather, Hyderabad. The incident occurred around midnight at Bilal Hardware Shop on Kalapather Road. No casualties were reported.

According to reports, local residents noticed the fire and attempted to control it before a fire tender from Chandulal Baradari arrived and extinguished the flames. Fire officials suspect the blaze may have been caused by a short circuit.

The shop owner stated that he had closed the shop around 10 p.m. and returned home. He was informed of the fire later that night and rushed back.

This is the latest in a series of fire-related incidents reported in Hyderabad in recent days. In the early hours of Thursday, a major fire broke out at the Tirupati Rubber Company located in Netaji Nagar, Katedan Industrial Area.

The factory manufactures car mats and other rubber products. Thick smoke was seen rising from the building, prompting a swift response from the Fire Department. Two fire engines were dispatched, and teams from Mailardevpally police and Disaster Response Force (DRF) reached the site. Firefighters continued to battle the flames for several hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.

On July 3, a fire broke out in the kitchen of a Café Coffee Day outlet located within the Krish Inn Hotel near the SR Nagar Traffic Police Station. Some individuals were feared trapped on the upper floor, but emergency crews responded quickly and launched rescue operations. No casualties were confirmed.

On the same day, a car caught fire shortly after refueling at a BPCL fuel station near Mailardevpally Police Station. Staff at the station acted promptly to douse the fire and prevent a larger incident. No one was injured.

In another incident, a refrigerator explosion triggered a fire at a house in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Sanathnagar early Thursday morning. Residents reported hearing a loud blast followed by smoke and flames. Firefighters and HYDRAA Disaster Response Force teams responded and brought the situation under control. No injuries were reported. Officials suspect the fire was caused by a compressor explosion.

Earlier, on Tuesday night, May 20, a fire broke out on the Musi Riverbed near the MGBS Metro Station. Officials believe dry vegetation caught fire, possibly due to a discarded cigarette. Firefighters contained the blaze within 30 minutes. No injuries were reported.

The same day, a fire occurred at a footwear warehouse in Boyiguda, Chandrayangutta. The fire began around noon on the second floor of the building, prompting nearby residents to evacuate due to dense smoke. Two fire engines from Chatrinaka were deployed, and the fire was brought under control. No injuries were reported. Authorities have urged business owners and residents to ensure proper fire safety measures are in place, especially as the city sees a rise in such incidents.
