Panjagutta police file harassment case against Evangelist KA Paul
Hyderabad: The Punjagutta police have registered a case against K.A. Paul, Evangelist, and the founder of the Praja Shanti Party on Saturday. This follows a complaint from a young female employee of his company, who alleges sexual harassment.
Complaint filed with SHE Teams, case transferred
The incident was reported after the victim, an employee who worked the night shift in KA Paul office, approached the SHE Teams unit of the Hyderabad Police. The unit subsequently directed the complaint to the Punjagutta police station for further action. According to police sources, the complainant provided substantial evidence to support the allegations. A detailed account of the alleged harassment was recorded by a woman police officer.
Investigation underway, WhatsApp messages sought
A preliminary examination revealed grounds for the complaint, leading the police to register a case. Investigation officers are now collecting evidence and are in the process of recovering and examining WhatsApp messages exchanged between the accused and the victim.
“A case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS pertaining to sexual harassment based on the complaint received against KA Paul yesterday evening. The investigation is currently underway,” said the Punjagutta Police Inspector.
KA Paul is known for his global evangelistic campaigns and is the founder of the Praja Shanti Party political party.
