Hyderabad: In a sensational outburst, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC and former MP K Kavitha on Tuesday publicly accused senior leader and former Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao of corruption in the Kaleshwaram project, claiming his actions had left ‘corruption stains’ on former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Making explosive comments, Kavitha stated, “Harish Rao's role in Kaleshwaram corruption is clear. They committed corruption for their own selfish interests. That's why he was removed as irrigation minister in the second term.”

Allegations of conspiracy and corruption

“CBI inquiry has been launched against my father. My stomach is burning,” Kavitha expressed, revealing personal anguish over the political crisis. She vehemently defended her father's legacy, stating, “KCR has given the people of Telangana inexhaustible wealth for generations. KCR has no need for food or money.”

Kavitha claimed that KCR's reputation was tarnished due to the actions of Harish Rao and another leader, Santosh. “KCR has got corruption stains because of Harish Rao and Santosh,” she alleged.

The BRS leader expressed particular anguish over the current Congress government's decision to hand over the Kaleshwaram investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). “I tolerated conspiracies against me.But I can't stand it when corruption allegations are made against KCR,” she said emotionally.
