Hyderabad: Trio arrested for Rs 10 lakh jewellery theft in Jubilee Hills
Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills police have apprehended three individuals who were accused of stealing gold, silver, and diamond ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh from their places of work, according to a press release issued by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Jubilee Hills on Tuesday.
The accused, identified as Revu Suresh (30), Aviti Palla Rao alias Pallaiah (52), and Touti Subba Rao (38), all worked as watchmen in the Jubilee Hills area. The arrested trio needed money to renovate their homes in their native places. They hatched a plan and executed the theft at their working locations on Monday.
Following a complaint, the Jubilee Hills police registered an FIR (752/2024) under sections 306 and 317(2) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and initiated a thorough investigation.
The police tracked down the accused and recovered several stolen items, including gold chains, rings, lockets, silver plates, and bowls. They also apprehended Yogesh Shanthilal Jain (37), who was identified as a receiver of the stolen goods.
Stolen items were:
1) Gold Necklace-1,
2) Gold Finger Rings-2,
3) Gold Chains-2,
4) Gold Locket-1,
5) Platinum Diamond Rings-2,
6) Venkateswara Swamy coins-3,
7) Ear Rings-3,
8) Silver Plates-3,
9) Silver Bowl-1,
10) Vinayaka Gold Idol-1
Recovered items are:
1) Silver Plates-1,
2) Silver Bowl-1 &
3) Silver Spoon – 1 &
4) Gold Chain – 1
5) 1-Platinum Diamond Ring
6) 3-Venkateshwara Gold lockets
7) 1-Gold Chain wg. about 2 grams
8) 1-Gold Ring wg. about 12 grams and
9) Cash of Rs. 5,97,000/-
