Jubilee Hills bypoll: Model code of conduct strictly enforced
HYDERABAD: In view of the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency by-election, election officials are implementing the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) with strict enforcement.
So far, 1,620 political posters, wall writings, and banners belonging to various parties have been identified and removed. Of these, 1,097 were on government properties and 523 on private properties. Officials said all unauthorised materials had been cleared.
District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan said that immediate action should be taken against violations of the MCC. He directed officials to monitor complaints round the clock through the 1950 Election Helpline and the C-Vigil mobile app.
Karnan instructed that flying squads and static surveillance teams work across the constituency to ensure transparency and impartiality. He also advised political parties and their representatives to conduct campaigns strictly as per the Election Commission of India’s guidelines.
The election teams have been asked to ensure that the by-election is conducted in a transparent and fair manner, the commissioner added.
