Hyderabad: BRS working president and Sircilla MLA K.T. Rama Rao intervened to address the difficulties faced by students of JNTU Sircilla Engineering College. Responding to reports that temporary classrooms at Vemulawada Degree College were locked, he immediately spoke with JNTU Vice-Chancellor Kishan Kumar Reddy and the Commissioner of Technical Education.

KTR urged the officials to prevent hardship to students by resuming classes without disruption. He pressed for early approvals to continue using the temporary campus until permanent buildings are completed. He also suggested clearing pending rent arrears to the local Agranaram Degree College and signing a new agreement to ensure continuity of academic activities. The Commissioner assured that dues would be cleared immediately and classes would resume without interruption.

Call for Permanent Buildings

KTR appealed to the state government to begin immediate construction of permanent buildings for JNTU Sircilla on the 20-acre site at Mandepalli village. The government had sanctioned ₹402 crore in 2021 for the project, which began with 360 students and now accommodates around 1,032 students, including hostel facilities for 700.

With classrooms locked due to administrative delays, KTR stressed that students’ education should not be disrupted and directed officials to issue approvals promptly. Students and parents expressed relief and gratitude for his intervention.
