“This is my first major award and it means a lot to me, especially in the presence of senior dignitaries from MoEF&CC, the Ministry of External Affairs, ambassadors of big cat range countries, IBCA officials, and representatives from leading conservation organisations,” said Jeet Aman, 58.

The competition received 1,400 entries from about 1,000 participants. Around 400 images were shortlisted, and the top 100 were evaluated for the final eight winners. Each participant was required to submit three images.

Award-winning images from India and abroad

“I submitted three photographs — one showing a leopard posing with the full moon setting behind a rocky mountain in Jawai Bera (Rajasthan), which fetched me the award; another depicting five sub-adult cheetahs forming a coalition while one traced prey in Masai Mara (Kenya); and a third showing a Terai tiger attacking a calf in Pilibhit Tiger Reserve,” Jeet said.

He also received a special recognition in the form of four nights at Dudhwa Tiger Reserve for his entries.

Hyderabad professional with a passion for wildlife

Apart from photography, Jeet is the Managing Director of Hyderabad-based Enviri India Services Pvt Ltd, a Global Capability Centre (GCC) of Enviri Corporation, a global environmental solutions provider.

Recently, he travelled to the North Pole to photograph polar bears and has visited numerous wildlife destinations worldwide, balancing his passion for photography with his professional commitments.
