Jeedimetla tops list: 32 Drunk Drivers caught in police sweep
Hyderabad: Cyberabad Traffic Police conducted a special drunk driving enforcement drive over the weekend, resulting in the apprehension of 283 offenders.
Cyberabad Traffic Police released a detailed vehicle-wise breakdown of the cases as follows: Two-wheelers (219), Three-wheelers (11), Four-wheelers (50), and Heavy Vehicles (3).
Further, according to the categorization based on their Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels, 265 offenders had BAC levels ranging from 35 mg/100 ml to 200 mg/100 ml, 12 offenders had BAC levels ranging from 201 mg/100 ml to 300 mg/100 ml, and 6 offenders had BAC levels ranging from 301 mg/100 ml to 500 mg/100 ml.
101 offenders aged 31-40 among 283 caught in Cyberabad's DUI drive
The highest number of offenders were caught under Jeedimetla traffic police station (32 cases), Chevella traffic police station (27 cases), Shashabad traffic police (26 cases) and others. Most of the revelers who were caught are in the age group of 31 years to 40, amounting to 101 offenders.
Cyberabad Police reiterated that driving under the influence of alcohol is a serious offence. “If anyone drives in an inebriated condition and causes a fatal accident, the police will book such individuals under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (Culpable Homicide Not Amounting to Murder). The maximum punishment under this section is 10 years of imprisonment along with a fine,” said Cyberabad Traffic Police in a statement.
Cyberabad Traffic Police ask everyone to drive safely and protect road safety for all. All the offenders will be produced before the local court.
