Fire breaks out at plastic bag manufacturing unit in Jeedimetla Industrial Area
Hyderabad: A massive fire broke out at a plastic bag manufacturing company in the Jeedimetla Industrial Area on Tuesday afternoon, November 26, 2024, sending thick plumes of smoke into the air and causing panic among workers and nearby residents.
According to the reports, three firefighting teams were immediately deployed to the scene and have been working round the clock to douse the flames. However, no casualties have been reported as of now, but, significant damage to the factory is anticipated.
Upon learning of the incident, Jeedimetla Circle Inspector (CI) and Balanagar Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) rushed to the location to monitor the situation. Authorities have expressed concern over the safety measures and fire prevention protocols at industrial sites in the area.
The fire is believed to have started in the early hours, with initial investigations suggesting that an electrical short circuit may have triggered the blaze. The flames quickly spread throughout the factory, fueled by highly flammable materials such as plastic and chemicals involved in the manufacturing process.
The fire department, along with local authorities, has launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. Further updates are awaited.
