Jagapathi Babu appears before ED in Sahiti Infra case

HYDERABAD: Actor Jagapathi Babu on Thursday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Sahiti Infra case.

Officials questioned him for nearly four hours. Sources said he was examined about his financial transactions with Sahiti Infra.

Jagapathi Babu had earlier acted in several promotional advertisements for the real estate company. Investigators found that funds were transferred from the account of Sahiti Infra chairman Lakshminarayana to Jagapathi Babu.

ED officials said they called him to verify details after detecting large money transfers. "We wanted clarity on the source and nature of funds that reached him," an official said.

The questioning mainly focused on the financial trail between Sahiti Infra and the actor.
