Hyderabad: Riding on the brace of goals by Allan Paulista, Hyderabad FC thrashed Mohammedan SC 4-0 to register their first win of the 2024-25 season of the Indian Super League (ISL) at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Saturday.
Two more goals, one each from Stefan Sapic and Parag Shrivas, helped the Hyderabad team hand out a comprehensive defeat to the local favourities. Hyderabad FC head coach Thangboi Singto’s men made the most of the conditions on the ground. Paulista took advantage of Padam Chettri’s mistake to hand Mohammedan SC an early lead in the fourth minute. The goalkeeper failed to clear his lines following a pass from Florent Ogier.
The Brazilian wasted no time and tucked it past the goalkeeper. Stefan Sapic scored the second goal in the 12th minute. The visitor’s tally kept increasing as the third goal was added by Paulista within 3 minutes of the last goal. Hyderabad FC’s onslaught continued as the team raced to a 3-0 lead in just 14 minutes and 38 seconds which is the second-fastest in ISL history.
The first half winessed sparkless Mohammedan SC were slower to react to second balls while in the second half, Andrey Chernyshov made a few changes and he brought on Cesar Manzoki, Mohammed Irshad, and Makan Chothe to solidify all three departments. However, nothing could stop the Hyderabad team as the visitors added another goal to their scoresheet in the 51st minute when Parag Shrivas combined with Alba to produce a long-range missile.
Following the emphatic win over Mohammedan SC, the Hyderabad team will play against Mohun Bagan Super Giant on October 30.
