VISAKHAPATNAM: The low-pressure area over the west-central Bay of Bengal is persisting and is likely to intensify into a depression by Thursday morning while moving northwest. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said it is expected to cross the coast between south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh on October 3.

In view of this, the weather office has issued a yellow alert for coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Wednesday.

Heavy rainfall expected on Thursday and Friday

IMD officials said heavy rains are likely in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Thursday and Friday. They added that strong winds, with speeds exceeding 30 km per hour, are expected along the coast over the next three days.
