Hyderabad police bust illegal ginger-garlic paste unit in Old Bowenpally
Secunderabad: The Hyderabad City Police Task Force has busted an illegal ginger-garlic paste manufacturing unit in Old Bowenpally. They arrested eight persons and seized goods worth Rs 4.5 lakhs.
The police arrested unit manager Mohd Sameer Ansari (33), distributor Mohd Gulfraz (32), cook and assistant manager Mohd Mukthaar (27), and five workers - Ranjith Kumar (19), Monu Kumar (20), Birval Sah (19), Inayath (32), and Mahesh Kumar (20). The main accused, Mohd Shakeel Ahmed, who is running ‘Sony Ginger Garlic Paste’ kharkana at Rajarajeswari Nagar, Old Bowenpally,is absconding.
Acting on credible information, the North Zone Task Force team, along with Bowenpally Police raided the 'Sony Ginger Garlic Paste' unit at Raja Rajeshwari Nagar. There, they discovered the manufacturing of adulterated and unhygienic food products. The main accused, Mohd. Shakeel Ahmed, who runs the operation, is currently absconding.
1,500 kgs of garlic paste, 55 kgs of citric acid seized
According to the DCP Task Force Y.V.S. Sudheendra, the accused is making adulterated Ginger and Garlic Paste in unhygienic conditions. He is mixing Citric Acid, preserving it in plastic tubs for days in rotten condition, then packing in plastic containers, and labeling and stamping the products using stamps/pads.
The police seized 1,500 kgs of garlic paste, 55 kgs of citric acid, mixture and grinder machines, a weighing machine, 12 damaged raw garlic bags (40 kgs each), date stamps, and ink bottles from the premises.
Task Force Inspector K. Saidulu and Bowenpally Police Inspector B. Laxminarayana Reddy supervised the operation. Bowenpally Police booked a case and further investigation is underway.
