ICHOR Biologics to set up new unit in Genome Valley, Shamirpet; CM Revanth Reddy lays foundation
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, laid the foundation stone for a new facility of ICHOR Biologics at Genome Valley, Shamirpet, Hyderabad.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said Hyderabad has established itself as a leading hub for pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. “About 33% of vaccines and 43% of bulk drugs produced in India come from this region,” he said. “During the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccines were exported globally from Genome Valley, a reflection of the strength and capability of our industrial base.”
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy assured that the state government remains committed to supporting industry growth. “Governments may change, but pro-industry policies will remain consistent,” he said. “We are introducing simplified, business-friendly regulations to attract investment.”
He added that Hyderabad is also emerging as a data and technology hub. “Since we took office, we’ve secured investments worth ₹3.28 lakh crore. We aim to compete globally by encouraging innovation and adopting advanced policy frameworks.”
The Chief Minister reiterated the state’s long-term economic goal, “Our vision is to make Telangana a $1 trillion economy within the next decade. I urge the industrial community in Genome Valley to partner with us in realizing this ambition.”
