Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) took action on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, to remove illegal encroachments made by SAGE School in Peerzadiguda Municipality, Medchal-Malkajgiri district. The school, owned by Jashwanth Reddy, had constructed buildings by merging a 30-foot road that connected several layout plots in the Yadadri Residential Colony.

The road, which served as a crucial link to Warangal Highway, had been blocked as part of the school's expansion, affecting 80 plots spread across 5.20 acres. The Yadadri Residential Welfare Association filed a complaint with HYDRAA, which conducted a field inspection and confirmed the encroachment. On Wednesday, the agency cleared the area and restored the road.

This follows a spike in complaints received by HYDRAA, which registered 59 reports on May 19, 2025. About 70% of the complaints were related to encroachments on public spaces, including parks, roads, and land meant for public use. In Tolichowki, residents reported a shop illegally built on the road near Baba Hotel. In Qutbullapur Mandal, a 50-foot-wide road leading to Kompally had been reduced to just 10 feet in some areas due to encroachments on either side.

In Gajularamaram, the Bhagatsingh Nagar Government Hospital Land Protection Committee raised concerns about 3,500 square yards of land (Survey No. 155), originally allocated for a hospital, being re-encroached upon. Despite previous removal efforts by the municipality, the encroachments had resurfaced.

In OU Colony, a woman reported that her plot had been fully enclosed by neighboring constructions, while also alleging that land earmarked for a crematorium had been illegally sold. Additionally, residents of Mata Aravind Colony in Chengicherla village highlighted a dispute over 7 acres of land in Survey No. 33/10, claiming that an individual was blocking land registration by asserting jurisdiction over the land under the Endowments Department.
