Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Tuesday restored the Fertilizers Corporation of India (FCI) Employees Cooperative Housing Society Layout, located adjacent to the Gachibowli main road in Serilingampally Mandal. Earlier, representatives of Sandhya Convention had erased the layout boundaries and undertaken several unauthorized constructions. HYDRAA had cleared those encroachments on May 6, 2025.

The layout spans over 20 acres and includes around 170 plot owners. Originally developed in the 1980s, the layout had gradually lost its demarcations and became a target for illegal encroachments. Acting upon a public complaint received through Prajavani, HYDRAA stepped in and removed the encroachments.

The agency, in coordination with GHMC town planning staff, redefined the layout, reinstating the boundaries for roads, parks, and public utility spaces. HYDRAA also initiated immediate construction based on the original layout plan, including the restoration of internal roads and the main roads. Plot owners expressed happiness and relief as the boundaries of plots, parks, and other public amenities were re-established.

As per the original layout, each plot owner was able to identify their respective plots and boundaries. HYDRAA also discovered that several commercial structures, including Mango, Unex food courts, and Spicy Bar, a total of seven establishments, were built on the road area. The organizers have been informed to remove these structures. HYDRAA Inspector Rajashekar stated that they would be removed within a couple of days, and road construction would begin immediately thereafter.

Children thank HYDRAA for clearing path to school

“HYDRAA has shown us the path to school,” said students of the Government Primary School at Doodh Bowli, Chilakalguda, Mettuguda Division, Secunderabad, as they expressed their gratitude to HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath.

The students visited HYDRAA's office on Tuesday, accompanied by their headmaster Mallikarjun Reddy and teacher Venkata Ramana. They gifted a plant to the Commissioner as a token of appreciation.

On May 26, Headmaster Mallikarjun Reddy had held a placard in front of the GHMC zonal office, appealing to the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to construct a road leading to the school. The issue was picked up by the media, prompting HYDRAA to take swift action.

Following the directives of Commissioner A.V. Ranganath, Inspector Aditya inspected the site and removed a wall that was obstructing the pathway to the school. With GHMC’s support, a road was constructed and a gate was installed for the school. Students celebrated the development and thanked HYDRAA.

The children also expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who established HYDRAA. On Tuesday, they met Commissioner Ranganath in person to convey their thanks. When he encouraged them to study well, the students responded with a loud and enthusiastic “Okay, Sir!” They also extended their thanks to GHMC Zonal Commissioner Ravi Kiran for his cooperation in laying the road and installing the school gate.
