HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has successfully resolved a road dispute in Kismatpur, Bandlaguda Jagir Municipality, by demolishing a fence that had obstructed a vital road connecting two colonies. The obstruction was cleared on Monday morning, March 17, 2025, and by evening, a cement road was laid, providing a permanent solution to the issue.

The road connects Fortune West Meadows and Sri Harshit Lay Out, located in Bandlaguda Jagir Municipality, Rangareddy District. Fortune West Meadows spans 18.65 acres with 173 plots, while Sri Harshit Lay Out covers 12 acres with 160 plots. A 30-foot-wide road links these two colonies, but the road had been blocked by a fence built during construction to protect the layouts.

Though municipal authorities had demolished the fence six months ago, residents of Sri Harshit Lay Out rebuilt it, leading to ongoing disputes. Residents of Fortune West Meadows filed a complaint with HYDRAA, citing difficulties caused by the obstruction for the past three years.

After a thorough investigation, HYDRAA, along with municipal officials, demolished the fence on Monday morning. By the evening of the same day, the agency and Bandlaguda Jagir Municipality had successfully laid a cement road, clearing the way between the two colonies.

Local residents expressed relief, noting that they had been forced to take a 2-kilometer detour due to the obstruction. They thanked HYDRAA and the Bandlaguda Jagir Municipality for their swift action in resolving the issue.

HYDRAA Receives 59 Complaints About Encroachments

On the same day, HYDRAA received 59 complaints regarding encroachments on public spaces, including government lands, roads, and footpaths. The complaints were lodged during the Public Grievance session held by the agency and highlighted encroachments in both affluent neighborhoods and low-income settlements.

HYDRAA initiated immediate inquiries into the complaints, with Commissioner A.V. Ranganath assigning officials to resolve the issues. He highlighted the importance of protecting government lands and public areas and urged officials to take necessary action to prevent further encroachments.
