Acting on the complaints, the authorities removed a wall constructed by residents of the NRI Colony in Kapra Municipality, Medchal-Malkajgiri district. The removal of this obstruction has restored access to four colonies – Senior Citizen colony, Shanti villas, Lakshmi villas, Gowrinathpuram, and Vampuguda colony.

“What used to be a 3-kilometer detour to reach the main road to Dammaiguda is now just a 100-meter walk," exclaimed a resident of Senior Citizen Colony.

The locals said that the Kapra Municipality officials have assured them that roads will be laid immediately at the sites.

A similar anti-encroachment drive was conducted near Rallaguda village in Shamshabad mandal, where a wall blocking access to the Outer Ring Road was also demolished. In Sainikpuri, a 50-meter wall obstructing access to the Army Officers Colony was removed which opened a pathway for residents.

In a similar operation, the HYDRAA officials acted upon complaints from residents and recovered approximately 1200 square yards of public land in Defense Colony, Malkajgiri Circle.

The officials investigated allegations of misuse of land which was designated for public use and confirmed that five plots had been illegally sold or occupied. Subsequently, the encroachments were removed, and sign boards were erected designating the land as property of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) meant for public use.
