HYDRAA gets its own police station
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) will set up it's own police station which will enable it to speed up the asset protection process and combat illegal activities in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region.
An order was issued by the state government to create a new βHYDRAA Police Stationβ, empowering the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency Commissioner AV Ranganath to direct the police department to register cases against those who have encroached upon government lands and constructed structures in the Full Tank Level (FTL) of the water bodies in and around Hyderabad city.
According to the government order, an offer of ACP/DSP rank will serve as the Station House Officer ( SHO) of the police station being established at B block in Buddha Bhavan, Secunderabad.
The dedicated police station will be authorised to register cases against land-grabbers, encroachers, vandals, and defacement of public properties, as well as other cases related to asset protection and related subjects within its territorial jurisdiction.
Earlier, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath had requested the government to set up a dedicated police station for the agency as it would help accelerate the reclamation of encroached lands and also monitor illegal activities owing to its huge jurisdiction leading up to the Outer Ring Road.
