HYDRAA Police Station opens in Hyderabad to tackle rising land grabs
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy inaugurated the first Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency’s (HYDRAA) Police Station at Buddha Bhavan in Hyderabad today, on May 8, 2025. The ceremony, which took place at 4:00 PM, marked a significant step in strengthening the state's disaster response and law enforcement capabilities.
As part of the event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also flagged off a fleet of new vehicles for the HYDRAA Disaster Response Team. The newly launched vehicles include 21 DRF vehicles, 55 Scorpios, 4 Innova Crestas, 5 minibuses and trucks, and 37 two-wheelers.
The new HYDRAA Police Station, a G+2 structure covering 10,500 square feet, has been fully equipped to meet the growing demands of disaster management and law enforcement in the region. ACP P. Thirumal has been appointed as the Station House Officer (SHO), overseeing a team consisting of six inspectors, 12 sub-inspectors, and 30 constables.
The Telangana government is taking further steps to combat illegal land encroachments. A dedicated unit within the HYDRAA Police Station will focus on addressing land grabs and encroachments.
