Hyderabad: A.V. Ranganath, Commissioner of the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), conducted field-level inspections on Wednesday in response to public complaints received through Prajavani.

The Commissioner visited several locations in Pocharam Municipality, including Sanskruti Township and Ekashila Nagar. In Sanskruti Township, he oversaw the removal of gates erected by private landowners that were obstructing a 100-feet road. He directed officials to demarcate the road as per the Master Plan and proceed with construction.

At Koremula village, he reviewed complaints related to the Ekashila Nagar layout, developed over 147 acres in 1985. Plot owners alleged that 47 acres were reclassified as agricultural land in 2006. Despite favorable court rulings, they claimed they were still being denied permission to build homes. The Commissioner assured them that both parties involved would be called for a meeting next week and that all land records would be reviewed.

Later, Ranganath inspected issues delaying the construction of a main road in Neknampur. Although about 20 acres of government land are available, some locals have laid claim to the land and are obstructing the project. The Commissioner instructed that no obstructions should be allowed, especially for the stretch under high-tension power lines. A meeting has been scheduled for next week to address grievances, with all relevant documentation to be examined.

The Commissioner also reviewed flood canal works and encroachments in the Janardhan Hills area of Gachibowli. He inspected the canal connecting Mullakathva Lake to IDL Lake at Khaitalapur, as well as the canal running from IDL Lake to Kukatpally drains. Encroachments were identified along the canal near IDL Lake, and officials were directed to begin widening work.

Residents near Moosapet Metro Station complained that narrowing of the canal in that area has led to repeated flooding during rains. The Commissioner assured that corrective measures would be taken.
