HYDRAA crackdown continues: Focus now shifts to unauthorized ad hoardings in Hyderabad

HYDRAA, Hyderabad's disaster response agency, has shifted its focus from clearing encroachments around water bodies and parks to dismantling illegal advertising hoardings across the city. On Thursday, they removed 42 unauthorized hoardings belonging to various advertising agencies, including Prakash Arts Private Limited, Lead Space, and Uni Ads. Alongside this, HYDRAA launched a helpline for citizens to report instances of soil and debris dumping in water bodies. They are urging people to capture evidence (photos and videos) of vehicles transporting and dumping construction material into lakes and ponds to facilitate swift action. To date, 48 cases have been filed against developers for illegal soil dumping, and 31 lorries have been impounded.

Hyderabad: After demolishing encroachments in and around water bodies and parks, Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has turned its focus on illegal advertisement hoardings across Hyderabad.

HYDRAA officials took action against the unauthorized hoardings in the city on Thursday. Several hoardings belonging to various advertising agencies were dismantled as they were found to be erected without obtaining permission.

As per reports, around 42 hoardings were removed from different areas of the city, including those from outdoor advertising agencies such as Prakash Arts Private Limited, Lead Space, Uni Ads, PVS Ads, IKAR Ads, iSpace Advertisements, Surabhi Advertisement, UK Ads, B&M Ads, Sainath Ads, Foresight, and iCatch.

Meanwhile, HYDRAA launched a helpline where people can report the dumping of soil and debris inside the water bodies. The agency has appealed to people to help the officials curb the dumping of soil and construction materials in the lakes and ponds. The public has been urged to capture the photos and videos of vehicles being used to transport and dump the construction material into the water bodies and send it to the team for further action.

So far 48 cases have been filed against the developers in connection with the illegal dumping of soil into the water bodies. The officials have also impounded 31 lorries for transporting and disposing of the construction material in the lakes around the city.
