Hyderabad: In an attempt to assuage the disgruntled people, the Telangana state government on Sunday said residents of ventures and buildings constructed with proper legal approvals need not fear Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency’s (HYDRAA) demolition drive.

HYDRAA’s X handle put out a clarification with the video of chief minister Revanth Reddy in which he said the agency is only after the big land sharks and those who encroached on government lands, lakes and ponds to construct buildings.

The tweet also stated that the chief minister “has categorically stated that no structure with valid permissions will be demolished. HYDRAA will strictly adhere to this directive.”

“All real estate ventures with legally valid permissions have nothing to fear. False news is being spread that HYDRAA will demolish structures near lakes, even those legally permitted by competent authorities. The Honorable Chief Minister of Telangana has categorically stated that no structure with valid permissions will be demolished. HYDRAA will strictly adhere to this directive,” HYDRAA tweeted.

Speaking on the occasion of 34th Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Day at Charminar, Revanth Reddy had reiterated that the enforcement agency will not spare any encroacher. He also accused the Opposition parties of spreading lies about the real estate sector.
