Hyderabad: Citizens of Hyderabad are expressing concern over frequent wrong-side driving at Nanakramguda, despite the presence of traffic constables and police vehicles. Residents are urging authorities to take stronger action against violators.

The issue was highlighted by N.T. Reddy (@NTReddy6113) on X (formerly Twitter), who shared a post describing the situation. "Daily at Nanakramguda Rotary, autos, police vehicles, and others are driving in the wrong direction—right in front of traffic constables. No action taken. Why ignore such blatant violations? Road safety matters!" N.T. Reddy tagged multiple authorities, including @HYDTP, @HYDTP_HO, @TelanganaDGP, and @KTRBRS.

In his post, N.T. Reddy pointed out that the problem is not isolated to Nanakramguda but is being observed across several parts of the city. He highlighted issues such as non-functional traffic signals, poorly designed signal layouts, and a significant number of vehicles taking incorrect routes. According to N.T. Reddy, these problems are contributing to traffic congestion, road accidents, and, in some cases, loss of life.

N.T. Reddy also expressed frustration with the lack of action from law enforcement, even when officers are present on-site. He criticized the poor design of rotaries, which he believes exacerbates the problem. He noted that government vehicles themselves often violate traffic rules, which, in his view, sends the wrong message to the public. "If government vehicles break the rules, how can the public be expected to follow them?" he said.

Despite repeatedly raising these concerns on social media, N.T. Reddy said no action has been taken by the authorities so far. He called for improved planning and stricter enforcement of traffic rules, stressing that the government must lead by example to ensure public compliance.

In response, Cyberabad Traffic Police urged citizens to report instances of wrong-side driving by capturing photos or videos and sending them along with the location, date, and time of the violation. Reports can be submitted to 9490617346.
