Hyderabad weather update: Heatwave expected after March 12

Hyderabad is set to experience a dramatic shift in its weather, according to Telangana Weatherman T. Balaji. The current comfortable nights are coming to an end as humidity levels rise, resulting in dense morning fog. While day temperatures will remain moderate for the next two days, a major heatwave is expected from March 12 to 19. Temperatures are anticipated to soar during this period. However, there is some relief in sight as pre-monsoon thunderstorms are expected after March 18 or 19, which will provide a break from the intense heat. Balaji also noted the recent dry spell and the sudden cold wave that gripped the city, advising residents to stay hydrated and enjoy the cooler temperatures before the heatwave arrives.

Hyderabad: Telangana Weatherman, T. Balaji, has issued a weather update for Hyderabad, forecasting a significant shift in the city's climate. According to Balaji, residents are currently experiencing the last of the comfortable nights as humidity levels rise, leading to dense morning fog. While day temperatures will remain under control today and tomorrow, the humidity will increase. However, a major heatwave is expected from March 12 to March 19, with temperatures set to soar.

Balaji also shared a glimpse of relief later in the month, stating that pre-monsoon thunderstorms are likely after March 18 or 19, which should provide a break from the intense heat.

Earlier, Balaji had predicted that the recent stretch of record-low humidity would come to an end, with moisture-laden winds from the east bringing hazy weather and rising morning temperatures. He also mentioned that while isolated, localized rain could occur on March 10 and 11, these will likely be negligible. Residents are advised to prepare for full-fledged summer conditions from March 11 onward, including warmer nights.

On March 6, Hyderabad saw the driest and brightest day of the year, with afternoon humidity levels dipping to between 5-10%. This caused extremely dry conditions, prompting Balaji to advise residents to use skin moisturizer and stay hydrated. While the heat remained at normal levels, the sun's intensity was exceptionally high.

Just a day earlier, on March 5, a sudden cold wave gripped the city, contrasting sharply with the recent heat. Balaji referred to this as a "crazy March coldwave," noting the stark difference between the 38°C temperatures experienced just 36 hours prior and the current chilly conditions. He urged residents to make the most of the cool temperatures over the next few nights and mornings, as daytime temperatures were expected to remain relatively warm.

As Hyderabad braces for the upcoming heatwave, Balaji highlighted the need to stay cool and safe in the days ahead.
