Heavy traffic on Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway amid roadworks
HYDERABAD: Vehicular traffic surged to record levels on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway since Sunday afternoon, causing major congestion along several stretches in the erstwhile Nalgonda district.
Police deployed through night to ease congestion
Police have been on duty through the night to regulate the flow of vehicles and clear bottlenecks. The effort, led by Choutuppal Assistant Commissioner of Police Madhu Sudhan Reddy and Nalgonda Deputy Superintendent of Police Shivaram Reddy, focused on easing traffic snarls caused by ongoing road construction.
Road construction at Chityal, Choutuppal slows movement
The work at Chityal and Choutuppal has slowed down movement on both sides of the highway. Long queues of vehicles were reported between Nakrekal and Hyderabad, and from Ellareddygudem to Narketpalli, where the traffic remained jammed for hours.
Vehicles were seen moving slowly at the Korlaphad and Pantangi toll plazas, where traffic personnel were managing the situation manually.
