According to the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988, it is illegal for minors to drive. If a minor is caught driving the vehicle, the vehicle owner, typically a parent or the registered owner, will face serious legal consequences. These consequences include a fine and/or imprisonment, as well as the cancellation of the vehicle registration for a period of 12 months.

Additionally, the minor will be prohibited from obtaining a Learner’s or Driving License until reaching the age of 25. The traffic police have highlighted the importance of parents and guardians taking responsibility to prevent their children from driving, especially given the potentially fatal risks involved.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police is urging the public to cooperate with law enforcement and strictly adhere to traffic laws in order to reduce accidents and save lives. The initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance road safety for all.
