Traffic restrictions in Hyderabad today for Rosaiah statue inauguration and TPCC meeting
Hyderabad: Traffic restrictions are in place across central Hyderabad today, July 4, 2025, due to two major political events. One is the inauguration of a bronze statue of former Chief Minister Konijeti Rosaiah at Old PS Saifabad and the other is the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) meeting at LB Stadium.
The statue unveiling is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. Traffic in the area around Old PS Saifabad will be regulated, with diversions at key junctions:
- At Iqbal Minar, traffic from the Secretariat will be diverted towards Ravindra Bharathi. Vehicles coming from Ravindra Bharathi will be redirected to Telugu Talli Junction.
- At Old PS Saifabad, traffic from Nirankari Junction via HDFC will be diverted towards Iqbal Minar and the Old Lakdikapul Bridge.
Drivers should expect delays and congestion at Old PS Saifabad, Iqbal Minar, VV Statue, Masab Tank Junction, Ravindra Bharathi, and Telugu Talli Junction during the morning hours.
The second phase of restrictions begins at 1:00 PM, ahead of the TPCC meeting at LB Stadium. The event will continue until 8:00 PM. Traffic will be stopped or diverted on a need basis at the following points:
- Vehicles from AR Petrol Pump (Public Gardens) to BJR Statue will be diverted towards Nampally.
- Vehicles from Basheerbagh towards AR Petrol Pump will be diverted at BJR Statue towards SBI, Abids, and Nampally Station Road.
- Traffic from Sujatha School Lane towards Khan Lateef Khan Building will be redirected at Sujatha School Junction towards Nampally.
Authorities have advised commuters to avoid the following busy areas between 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM and VV Statue, Khairatabad Flyover, Ambedkar Statue, Telugu Talli, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Basheerbagh, BJR Circle, SBI Gunfoundry, Abids Circle, AR Petrol Pump, Nampally, KLK Building, Liberty, Himayath Nagar, Assembly, MJ Market, and Hyderguda.
RTC Buses from Ravindra Bharathi towards BJR Statue must avoid the LB Stadium gate area and divert at AR Petrol Pump towards Nampally. Commuters are requested to plan ahead and follow the diversions. For assistance, the Hyderabad Traffic Police helpline is available at 9010203626.
