Hyderabad touches 9.7 degrees Celsius as Telangana reels under cold conditions

Hyderabad: Hyderabad is facing a cold wave as night temperatures have fallen below 15 degree Celsius. India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has predicted mist or hazy conditions likely during the morning hours in the city.

Several areas in Hyderabad and surrounding districts recorded a minimum temperature of 9.7 degrees Celsius while the BHEL area, the University of Hyderabad, Serilingampally mandal, Rangareddy district were touching a chilly 9.6 degrees Celsius while Rajendranagar in Rangareddy district recorded 13.3 degrees Celsius.

Other neighbourhoods like Moula Ali and Shankarpalli are reeling under biting cold at 11.3 degrees Celsius while the mercury has dipped to 13.2 and 14.3 degrees Celsius in Marredpally and Golkonda respectively.

Meanwhile, cold wave conditions have prevailed in parts of Telangana with minimum temperature dropping to single digit in at least five districts. According to the TGDPS, the lowest temperature was 6.6 degrees Celsius at Bela in Adilabad district, followed by 6.7 degrees Celsius in Sirpur in Kumurambheem Asifabad, 9.3 degrees Celsius in Pembi in Nirmal, 9.4 degrees Celsius in Jukkal in Kamareddy and 9.8 degrees in Nyalkal in Sangareddy district.
