Hyderabad to experience drop in night temperatures, relief from heat expected
Hyderabad: Hyderabad is set to experience a significant drop in night temperatures starting tonight, according to Telangana Weatherman (@balaji25_t) on X. The weatherman highlighted that while the core city may not experience a dramatic cooling due to the urban heat island effect, noticeable relief is expected in the morning. He also mentioned that the outskirts of the city will be particularly cool during the early hours.
"From tonight, a sharp drop in temperatures is expected in the northern districts of Telangana, including Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagitial, Bhupalapally, and Karimnagar. Both night and morning temperatures will be cooler, while the days will remain warm," he added.
Earlier, the Telangana Weatherman had warned residents about a potentially harsh summer ahead. He predicted a scorching season, with conditions similar to those in 2017 or 2018, largely driven by a La Niña to Neutral/Weak La Niña pattern.
La Niña conditions are typically associated with severe heatwaves, although occasional summer storms could offer some relief. The weatherman further stated that while La Niña to Neutral/Weak La Niña conditions may lead to good monsoon rains, more clarity on the monsoon outlook would come by May.
As the summer season begins, experts are advising residents to take precautions to stay cool and healthy. These include staying hydrated, using sunscreen and sunglasses, scheduling outdoor activities in the early morning or evening, cooling living spaces with fans or air conditioning, and eating light meals.
