Hyderabad STF seizes cannabis-infused kulfi ice creams at Holi celebrations in Dhoolpet

Hyderabad police seized cannabis-infused Kulfi ice creams, Burfi sweets, and cannabis balls during Holi celebrations in Dhoolpet on March 14, 2025. The raid was conducted by the Excise Enforcement STF team, led by Anji Reddy. A Kulfi ice cream vendor, Satyanarayana Singh, was arrested for selling the cannabis-laced products. The Excise Enforcement Director Kamalasan Reddy praised the STF team for their prompt action in seizing the illicit items.

Hyderabad: The Excise Enforcement STF police have seized cannabis-infused Kulfi ice creams, cannabis balls, and other cannabis-based products during Holi celebrations in Dhoolpet, Hyderabad on March 14, 2025.

Holi, the festival of colors, is widely celebrated across Telangana, with people from various states marking the occasion in different ways. However, in Lower Dhoolpet, the celebration took a different turn as cannabis was found to be used in Kulfi ice creams, Burfi sweets, and silver-coated cannabis balls.

The STF team, led by Anji Reddy, raided the celebrations and seized 100 cannabis-infused Kulfi ice creams, 72 Burfi sweets, and silver-coated cannabis balls.

Satyanarayana Singh, a regular Kulfi ice cream vendor, was found selling the cannabis-infused ice creams. A case has been filed against him for the sale of cannabis-laced products.

Excise Enforcement Director Kamalasan Reddy praised the STF team for their swift action in seizing the illicit products.
