Ritika Dangi and Bikram Mohapatra lead in Day 4 of Hyderabad Sailing Week
HYDERABAD: Sailors faced gusting winds and thundering clouds on Day 4 of Hyderabad Sailing Week happening at Hussain Sagar Lake. Despite the challenging conditions, the sailors showcased their skill and resilience. Ritika Dangi from INWTC (M) club won four races including 10th race in ILCA 6 (O) category and all the three races in ILCA 6 (W) Category. Bikram Mohapatra from EMESA took both the 11th and 12th races, demonstrating consistent performance throughout the day.
With wind speeds ranged from 15-17 knots, blowing up to 22 knots, making it a tough day for all participants at the races. Nevertheless the sailors delivered impressive performances. Hyderabad locals enjoyed the national sailing event at Hussain Sagar, known for its scenic beauty and cool weather.
Ritika Dangi shines in ILCA 6 (W) category
In the ILCA 6 (W) category, Ritika Dangi from INWTC (M) swept all three races (10th, 11th, and 12th), underscoring her dominance and skill. The ILCA 7 category saw Mahaprabhu A from AYN winning the 10th race, while Israj Ali from EMESA clinched the 11th race. Mohit Saini from AYN emerged victorious in the 12th race, each race showcasing fierce competition and tactical prowess.
In the ILCA 4 (Girl) category, Shagun Jha from NSS claimed both the 10th and 12th races. Manya Reddy from SSC won the 11th race, making for a competitive and exciting series. Shashank Batham from NSS won the 10th race in the ILCA 4 (Boys) category, with Eklavya Batham from NSS taking the 11th race, and Akshat Kumar Dohare from NSS securing the 12th race.
The 470 (Mixed) category featured Shraddha Verma and RK Sharma from INWTC (M) winning the 10th race. Divyanshi Mishra and Aniraj Sendhav from NSS claimed the 11th race, while Sudhanshu Shekhar and Uma Chouhan from INWTC (M) triumphed in the 12th race.
The sailors' ability to overcome the harsh conditions and deliver outstanding performances was evident throughout the day. The excitement at Hussain Sagar reflected the competitive spirit and dedication of the participants.
