The MoU aims to address the alarming rate of road accidents in India, where one life is lost every four minutes. Contributing factors include human error, environmental conditions, and driver behavior, with key causes being overspeeding, non-use of helmets and seat belts, overloading, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and distracted driving, such as mobile phone use.
