Hyderabad to experience rain & cool, humid weather until December 9
Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has issued a Yellow Alert for Hyderabad city and surrounding areas on December 2, 2024.
The weather is expected to be generally cloudy with mist or hazy conditions in the morning. Light rain or drizzle is likely in parts of the city, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected around 28°C and 22°C, respectively. Surface winds are predicted to be from the north-east or east, at speeds of 6-10 kmph.
The IMD has also warned of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) at isolated places across several districts of Telangana. These include Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, and Jangaon.
Rainy Conditions Likely to Persist in Telangana
Telangana Weatherman predicted that the region will experience a "mini rainy season" over the next week. He mentioned that Hyderabad received widespread rainfall of 5-11mm from the evening of December 1 to midnight, with on-and-off rains across the southern and eastern parts of the state.
He added that rainfall will continue to affect central Telangana, as well as southern and eastern districts, with intermittent rain expected in Hyderabad from the afternoon to midnight. This rainy spell is expected to last until December 9, bringing cool and humid conditions to the region.

Advisory for Farmers
In response to the unseasonal rains, Telangana Weatherman advised farmers to store their grains indoors and avoid harvesting until December 9, due to the risk of moderate rainfall. He also suggested that residents carry umbrellas or raincoats instead of sweaters and jackets, as the recent cold spell has passed.
The weather conditions are expected to affect the region over the coming week, and residents are advised to stay prepared.
