The incident occurred as Hyderabad experienced intense rainfall on Tuesday night, lasting for over two hours. Several areas, including Miyapur, Chandanagar, Gachibowli, Madhapur, Kondapur, Rayadurgam, Kothaguda, Tarnaka, Habsiguda, Nacharam, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Punjagutta, and Ameerpet, reported heavy downpours. Waterlogging disrupted traffic across the city, and rainwater entered multiple low-lying residential areas. Suburban localities also received significant rainfall.

In response to the situation, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to remain on high alert and take necessary precautions based on alerts from the Meteorological Department. He highlighted coordination among departments including GHMC, Police, HYDRAA, and the Electricity Department to ensure roads remain clear and services are not disrupted.

The Chief Minister also instructed that low-lying areas be monitored to prevent inundation and that alternative measures be taken to minimize inconvenience to residents. He urged the public in rain-affected areas to stay cautious. The Chief Secretary has been tasked with closely monitoring the rainfall situation in Hyderabad and across all districts.
