Hyderabad: Residents of Brindavan Colony in Hyderabad have raised concerns about pothole-ridden roads and dangling wires near Ice Magic Restaurant. The situation has worsened with the onset of the rainy season, leading to water stagnation and increasing the risk of accidents.

The issue was brought to light by a resident, Riyaz (@Riyazuddin555), who posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), tagging the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Zonal Commissioner @ZC_Khairatabad, GHMC Mayor @gadwalvijayainc, and @CommissionrGHMC. He wrote, “Request @GHMCOnline to please fill potholes at Brindavan colony main road near ice magic restaurant. Also please remove wireless which is lying on road since 2 weeks.”

Responding to the post, the official GHMC handle replied, “Dear citizen, the area engineer (AE) is informed to get the potholes and road repair attended to and update the status. @Banothlalsingh3 @DC_12Mpatnam.” However, Riyaz later clarified that the issue falls under the jurisdiction of @Dc10bG, not Mehdipatnam.

Residents have expressed frustration over delayed responses, especially as ongoing rain continues to worsen road conditions and make the area unsafe.

Citizens facing similar issues related to water stagnation or sewerage can reach out to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) via its helpline at 155313 or 040-23300114, or through its official handle on X. For road-related concerns, residents can contact GHMC through @GHMCOnline.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) was established on November 1, 1989, and is responsible for managing the city's water supply and sewerage services. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) oversees Hyderabad, the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Telangana. It is one of the largest municipal corporations in India, serving a population of 7.9 million people across an area of 650 square kilometers.
