Hyderabad: Tense situation prevailed in Hyderabad’s Tolichowki on Saturday night after rumours started flying thick and fast that someone opened fire near Yousuf Tekdi colony.

After receiving a call of gunfire, the police team rushed to the spot and started verifying the incident with the locals but could not get any specific information.

The police officials learnt that there was a dispute between two realtors, Akhtar of Nizam Colony and Shakeel, a resident of Golconda, over some property issue. The two realtors met at around 11 pm on Saturday to discuss the issue and it quickly turned into an argument. As they were quarrelling, a group of people came and allegedly assaulted Akhtar. The police are examining the footage of the CCTVs installed in the area.

Meanwhile, Humayun Nagar Detective Inspector G Balakrishna denied the reports of firing shots at Tolichowki. He said that the initial probe revealed that there was a quarrel between Shakeel and Akhtar, however, the information about firing turned out to be false.
