Body in Musi river: Amberpert police solve murder case
Hyderabad: The Amberpet police of Hyderabad Commissionerate have cracked a murder mystery with the arrest of two men who allegedly killed their friend, strangled him, wrapped his body in wires, and dumped it in the Musi River on Tuesday. The accused reportedly executed the murder as revenge for the victim insulting one of their wives.
The deceased has been identified as Shorab (30), a false ceiling worker hailing from Bihar, who was residing with his friends in Boduppal’s Dwaraka Nagar. The prime accused, Mohammad Javed (27), enraged by Shorab’s alleged misbehaviour towards his wife, conspired with another roommate, Mohammad Amirul Haq, to carry out the murder.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) East Zone Balaswamy, who addressed the media on Tuesday, the crime was premeditated. Javed, who felt deeply insulted, planned the murder with Amirul. They strangled Shorab to death, wrapped his body in wires to weigh it down, and threw it into the Musi River near Amberpet.
The police began investigating after Shorab’s body was found floating in the river two days ago. During the course of the investigation, technical evidence and local sources led the police to Javed and Amirul, who initially tried to mislead the investigation.
“It was a clear case of revenge killing triggered by personal enmity. The accused have confessed to the crime,” said DCP Balaswamy. Both accused have been arrested and charged under relevant sections of BNS. Further investigation is underway. Meanwhile, the accused were being sent to judicial custody.
