Hyderabad: Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, C V Anand acting as Additional District Magistrate (Executive), conducted a hearing regarding a clash between two political rivals in the Nampally Assembly Constituency at the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate on Thursday.

Going further into details, on October 7, Nampally MLA Mohd. Majid Hussain from AIMIM and Congress leader Mohd. Feroz Khan, who contested from the constituency in the last elections, was involved in a scuffle.

According to police, while Mohd.Majid Hussain, MLA/AIMIM, and his followers inspected the CC road work at Feroz Gandhi Nagar under Humayun Nagar Police Station, Mohd.Feroz Khan/Congress and his followers arrived to inspect the civic work.

“Mohd.Majid Hussain, MLA/AIMIM and his followers took objection, leading to a quarrel between both groups and chaos broke out as both the groups started attacking each other with fist blows and pelting stones, injuring some of the followers of both the groups besides causing panic among the public, disturbing the peace and tranquility in the area,” said Hyderabad police in a statement.

Subsequently, the police intervened, dispersed the cadres of both parties, and registered a case u/s 194 BNS, 2023 against the respondents of both parties.

Binding orders sought to prevent future clashes in Nampally

During executive court proceedings, the Station House Officer of Humayun Nagar Police Station informed the Commissioner that the ongoing political rivalry between the two groups has been causing significant disturbance to public peace. The police requested binding orders under Section 126 of the BNSS to prevent future incidents.

The Commissioner of Police & Addl.District Magistrate (Executive), Hyderabad Police Commissionerate heard the respondents of both groups (10 of Group-A led by Mohd.Majid Hussain, MLA/AIMIM & 9 of Group-B led by Mohd. Feroz Khan, Congress) and advised them to refrain from provocative activities. The case was adjourned for further hearing.
