Night-time traffic diversions in Hyderabad for Lakdikapul storm water drain work
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police have announced traffic diversions during night hours due to the proposed construction of a storm water drain at Lakdikapul Junction by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The project aims to address persistent waterlogging in the area.
Construction started on June 11, 2025, and is expected to continue for one month, with possible extensions based on site conditions. To minimize daytime disruption, work will take place between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
The construction covers approximately 180 meters, starting from the Intelligence Office to Dwaraka Hotel, passing through Lucky Restaurant and Venkateshwara Hotel near Old PS Saifabad Junction.
Traffic Diversions:
- Traffic from Nirankari heading toward Iqbal Minar will be diverted via Ravindra Bharathi.
- Traffic from Ravindra Bharathi to Old PS Saifabad will be diverted at Iqbal Minar toward Secretariat Junction.
- Traffic from Secretariat Junction to Old PS Saifabad will be diverted at Iqbal Minar toward Ravindra Bharathi.
Private travel buses are advised to clear the Dwaraka Hotel junction (Old PS Saifabad) before 11:00 p.m. to avoid congestion and ensure public safety.
